About me
Once upon a time I was mistakenly called ‘lemony’ instead of Melanie and it’s hung around ever since – the quirky coupling of that and the solitary bird that always appeared in my early designs gives me the name I go by today.
Over the years, since graduation in 1996 when I attained my BA in Fine Art at Loughborough School of Art & Design, I have happily created pictures, invites, cards, wedding stationery and basically anything paper related for friends and family. Mid 2015 I felt I wanted to to share my ideas with a wider audience, lemonybird was hatched!
Being naturally drawn to pattern and colour, my designs emerge from a juxtaposition of different papers and processes to visually make a quirky piece of art that catches the eye.
Working from my home studio in Loughborough surrounded by art materials and my nana’s ancient Singer sewing machine, I am happily immersed in the world of lemonybird – I hope you get as much pleasure from my designs as I do creating them.
